Dunkettle Interchange Upgrade Scheme, Cork, Ireland

The Dunkettle Interchange Upgrade Scheme is a critical infrastructure project, and one of the largest infrastructure projects in Ireland. Tailor Engineering is detailing several embankments, slopes and walls using different reinforced soil techniques, using both steel and geosynthetics as reinforcement, for a face area of +10,000 sqm.

John Sisk & Son Holdings Ltd (Sisk) have been awarded the contract for the Dunkettle Interchange Upgrade Scheme by Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII). This design and build contract will reconfigure the existing Dunkettle Interchange to remove a number of traffic lights and create slip roads to increase the flow of traffic. The project includes a series of direct road links between the N8, the N25 and the N40, a grade separated junction, new roundabouts, 50 structures of various forms and the provision of cyclist and pedestrian facilities.
